Contact information is available for each program by clicking the "more info" links and you can always call the golf shop at 319-335-9246 to learn more!
Level 1: Beginners Lesson Series
This lesson series is an excellent program for the true beginner golfer but can also serve as a nice refresher for more experienced junior golfers alike! Instructors get juniors started down the right path with proper swing fundamentals and etiquette of the game and meet them at their own swing needs. This fun approach to golf helps foster growth of our popular game without overwhelming a junior who is just getting started. Generally students are grouped accordingly by age and a 6:1 student-teacher ratio ensures each junior gets proper attention. Most classes start at 5:00 p.m. and end at 6:00 p.m (with some exceptions).
Operation 36's Developmental Junior Program provides your junior with everything they need to learn to PLAY GOLF!
We know that learning to play golf ON THE COURSE can be an overwhelming and frustrating experience if you don't have a clear plan! That is why Operation 36 provides beginners with the most effective developmental programs and technology to learn to play golf. Become a skilled golfer by following a motivating roadmap to shooting Par (36) or better for 9 holes!
This program is run by Dillon Baker, independent teaching professional with Finkbine Golf Course.
Level 3: PGA Junior League
PGA Jr. League is a game-changing opportunity for boys and girls to be introduced to the “competitive” side golf!
This unique approach introduces the competitve play side of golf and serves as a great system to help transition youth golfers from learning to play. To beginning to play competitively against other golfers! Juniors learn competitive golf through a "team-oriented format," rather than the traditional individually scored format golfers know and are accoustom to (which can sometimes be intimidating and discouraging for juniors wanting to take the next step)! PGA Jr. League is open to juniors 10 to 13 years of age (as of July 31) and will be managed by Finkbine Assistant Golf Professional, Sarah Overton, who assisted with the PGA Junior League Finkbine team in 2022.
