John Cafarelli - General Manager

John is the facility General Manager that oversees golf operations, agronomy, Bump's Restaurant, sales & marketing and maintenance operations. Prior to arriving at Finkbine, Cafarelli worked as the executive chef at three Troon properties: Valley of the Eagles Golf Club in Elyria, Ohio; The Lodge of Four Seasons Resort in Lake Ozark, Missouri; and Westhaven Golf Club in Franklin, Tennessee. Cafarelli, originally from Cleveland, has been in the food and beverage industry for more than 27 years. He graduated from the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio where he studied Business Economics.

Rick McCombs - Executive Chef

Rick McCombs was born in Des Moines and went to culinary school at the Culinary Institute at DMACC. He worked at many hotels and top restaurants in the Des Moines area before moving to the Iowa City area nine years ago. Around Iowa City, Rick helped to open Pat and Frans, worked as a sous chef at the Riverside Casino, and was the chef of a number of other restaurants. Most recently, he was the executive chef for Coe College. Rick started here in October 2023 and is already making improvements to the kitchen and changes to the menu. Please welcome Rick to Bump’s Restaurant and Finkbine Golf Course.

Rylie Estlund - Restaurant Manager

Rylie is the Restaurant Manager of Bump’s Restaurant that oversees day-to-day operations for the restaurant front-of-house and private events. Rylie came to Bump’s Restaurant as a server in August 2022, quickly showing her value as a part of the restaurant team, prompting a promotion to Manager beginning in December of the same year. Rylie comes from the Quad Cities and graduated from Bettendorf High School. She got into the restaurant industry to help her family’s restaurant in the Quad Cities during COVID, starting in the back-of-house/kitchen doing dishes and working her way up. Rylie enjoys the fast-paced environment of the restaurant industry, as well as being able to make connections with new people each day! “If you haven’t yet, or in a little while, come out and try Bump’s,” says Rylie. “Our friendly, upbeat staff is ready to serve and make your experience with us ‘legendary!’”
