The Finkbine Golf School was designed to be comprehensive and affordable, our golf school offers something for everyone. Just like taking college introductory and more intermediate classes, these series are taught by experienced PGA professionals and apprentices. We pride ourselves on offering a comfortable and fun learning environment and can adapt to everyone’s unique swing needs and styles. Our staff includes: Jeff Moore, Director of Golf and teacher for 20 years; and Adam Kaufman, the Head Professional, who has spent time coaching both the men’s and women’s Iowa Hawkeye golf teams. Together these PGA professionals have 30 years of teaching experience. A 5:1student to teacher ratio ensures that everyone will receive individual attention.
Golf 101
Teaching the Fundamentals. We offer three, one-hour lessons to introduce our great game. Golf 101 will expose the absolute beginner to basic swing fundamentals and golf terminology and prepare the student for further private instruction or advancement into Golf 201. Instructors use a simple and fun approach for you to enter the game. This series is a must for anyone wanting to enter the game the right way. The three one-hour lesson package is $75, or $65 for University of Iowa students and staff. Sessions 1, 3 and 5 meet on Mon. & Wed. Sessions 2, 4 and 6 meet on Tue. & Thu. Students that have played only a few times or not at all should sign up for this class before moving onto Golf 201.
Golf 201
The Basics and Beyond. For the recent Golf 101 graduates up to anyone considering themselves still a beginner, we offer this five one-hour lesson package. Golf 201 provides the student with the most comprehensive understanding of the golf swing available by creating a building block approach to the game. Emphasis on swings fundamentals will give the student a swing for life. This series is designed for people wanting to improve all aspects of their game. This five one-hour lesson package is $125, or $110 for University of Iowa students and staff. Sessions 2, 4 and 6 meet on Mon. & Wed. Sessions 1, 3, 5 and 7 meet on Tue. & Thu. The last lesson will be taught on the golf course and help bridge the gap from lessons to playing the course. If you have played more than a handful of times this is the class for you.
